Finishing the “Roundtrip”

I love the construction of the “Roundtrip” sweater. I did learn, however, after I had knitted the entire project, that I didn’t like the long sleeves on my version. Since I had chosen Moda Dea Caché yarn ( a novelty yarn) the knitted fabric was a bit too stiff to make the sleeves drape nicely, so I shortened the sleeves to make a comfortable and fun short jacket.

I still need to decide on closures or buttons for my “Roundtrip” sweater. Also, when I blocked the sweater I found that I had dropped one stitch on the back which I quickly fixed with a bit of duplicate stitch.

Anyway, the “Roundtrip” sweater was one of my first knitting projects which I finally completed. I decided to finish a number of “UFOs” (unfinished objects) that I had started when I first began to knit. I used a lot of “cheap” yarns in these early projects, rather than the fine fibers I have been getting from Hanks recently, so I had to make some tough decisions about which of my early projects I was going to go ahead and complete and which ones I was going to frog (rip out) and move on.
